The Haitian Support Center is a community-oriented nonprofit. Our role in the community is to make sure that everyone has a place to come for services and help. Our goal is to help refugees and immigrants in Clark County experience a sense of belonging.

We do not discriminate or judge people for the way they look or their origin. We believe everyone must be valued, served, respected, and protected.

Our projects are community oriented. We implement programs for children, youth, and the elderly in our community. We value togetherness as a way of building community.

Thank you for your care, your concern, and your solidarity.

Integration

The Haitian Support Center helps immigrants integrate smoothly into the community by providing education, job training, and legal assistance, essential for their success in Springfield. Haitian immigrants contribute to the local workforce and start businesses but face language barriers, legal issues, and limited access to education and finances. HSC works to support their social, economic, and cultural adaptation in the community.

Education

Haitian students in Springfield face language barriers, financial struggles, and cultural adjustments in education. The Haitian Support Center supports them with ESL programs, tutoring, mentorship, and driving workshops. Limited financial aid makes higher education difficult, but HSC provides scholarships and community initiatives to bridge the gap. Expanding access to quality education and career readiness remains crucial for their success.

Advocacy

The Haitian Support Center advocates for the social, economic, and legal rights of Haitians in Springfield. We address immigration, education, healthcare, fair housing, and employment, and we partner with legal firms for assistance. We organize cultural events to raise awareness and build community. HSC empowers the Haitian community in Springfield, ensuring that their voices are heard in local, state, and federal policies.

We believe that community services must be accessible to people in need regardless of their race, ethnicity, color, religious or sexual orientation.

We seek to be a place where people feel at home when they come for community services and are served with dignity and respect.
